Description

I did it! I actually did it! I recorded a voice over tutorial! I don't sound half bad either~ (does that mean I don't sound half good :D?) I'm so excited! I feel like I just jumped over the moon and ran off with a dish and a spoon. Ohhh I feel so accomplished right now~

Sooo let me know if you like it, if it was helpful. I think it was good for me to sit down and make it, you always learn the most about something when you have to sit down and think about it.

These steps are a quick breakdown of what I remember, I recommend watching the video!
This was made in Paint Tool Sai! However you can achieve a similar effect in photoshop, you can use the airbrush tool for a similar effect to the watercolor blur.
Steps:
Step 1 sketch an eye, this is kind of a round (anime style)/almond shaped eye. Kind of a feminine eye, but used for guys too.
Step 2lower the opacity on the sketch layer, create a new layer and ink over on top of it
Step 3 Create a layer under the lineart and flat the drawing with appropriate colors. Set lineart layer to multiply and lower opacity
Step 4 create a layer and set it to multiply mode and shade, lower opacity on layer until it suits you. On another layer use the watercolor tool to create shadow on the top the eye to add three dimensionality.
Step 5 create a layer (again! All ze layers!) in luminosity mode (I used the skin color) and highlight the bottom of the eye working up, blur with the watercolor tool for a seamless effect, lower opacity until it looks good. Then I painted over it a little to make those little half circle line thingies stand out more.
Step 6 mostly a clean up step, used a multiply layer again to add more shadow to the pupil so it stood out more. Cleaned up the general shape of the eye so it was more defined, (flipped the image to check for balance, and corrected mistakes). Painted over the marker tool to add more detail, redid eyeshines.
Step 7 Added highlight to skin, added a layer of shadow around the entire eye for a more indian look. Just little touch ups. Used marker tool to add highlights on the eyelid itself so it stood out a little more.
